Members of Strategic Wealth Partners (SWP), a Deerfield-based wealth management firm, joined nearly 1,000 others at New Trier’s Northfield campus on Sunday April 30th. SWP was honored to support the mission of Autism Speaks and serve as a corporate sponsor on Team Tyler, formed in honor of Tyler Savitz.
“It is always humbling to be a part of awareness and fundraising efforts like Autism Speaks. It’s a powerful reminder of everyday things that are taken for granted,” said Tom Buhrmann, a wealth advisor at SWP. “I have family and friends affected by this condition – it is wonderful to see so many people come out to support Autism Speaks.”
500,000 children with Autism will similarly become adults in the next 10 years and will lose the school and public support that was available during childhood. Those individuals will need housing, jobs and community support, which is currently incapable of meeting the coming demand for services. Autism Speaks is working to increase awareness, advocate for the rights of these individuals and provide research and support to change the future for all those living with Autism.
